Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

CELPIP Practice is operated by the CELPIP Practice team, based in Western Australia (“we”, “us”). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password, and optional details you give us (name, test purpose, target level, test date).
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address (and whether Google has verified it) and name. We use them only to sign you in and link your account; we do not get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
  • Your practice activity: answers, scores, mock test results and feedback you send us.
  • Speaking recordings and their automatic transcripts, and the text of your writing answers.
  • Purchase records (product, amount, date). Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Basic technical information such as IP address, used for security and to prevent abuse.

How we use it

  • To run your account and show your progress.
  • To rate your speaking and writing with AI and show you feedback.
  • To process payments and keep records we are legally required to keep.
  • To improve our questions and feedback, for example using the ratings you give to AI feedback.
  • To send account emails such as verification and password resets. We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Service providers and overseas disclosure

We use trusted providers to run the service. Some of them store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States:

  • Vercel (website hosting) and Neon (database).
  • Cloudflare (file storage for recordings and bot protection).
  • OpenAI, Google (Gemini) and/or Anthropic (AI rating of answers and speech-to-text). Your recording or text is sent to them to produce your feedback. While we use Google’s free Gemini API tier, Google’s terms allow it to use submitted content to improve its products, so do not include personal details in your answers.
  • Stripe (payments) and Resend (account emails).
  • Google (sign-in, only if you choose “Continue with Google”).

We only share what each provider needs to do its job, and we do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Speaking recordings are deleted automatically 90 days after you make them. Transcripts and scores stay with your results.
  • Other account data is kept while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records).

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or to delete your account, by contacting our feedback form (log in first). We will respond within 30 days.
